The Go Slow Collective brings together counselling, somatic education, and embodied practices including yoga. These FAQs offer a little more detail about the yoga and somatic elements of my work.
I am an Accredited Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), holding a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours by Research). I meet national standards for ongoing social work practice in Australia.
I am also a Level 2 Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Australia, the professional regulating body for yoga teachers in Australia. You can find my listing on the Yoga Australia website HERE.

Some people find that embodied practices like yoga complement their therapeutic work, while others prefer to keep the two separate. Both choices are completely valid. You’re welcome to engage with whichever parts of The Go Slow Collective feel supportive for you.
If you’re curious about how the two might work together, we can explore that gently and at your pace — but there is never any expectation or requirement to do both.

Restorative yoga is a practice of deep rest. There is no stretching or effort — instead, your body is supported by props such as bolsters, blankets, cushions, or home‑sourced alternatives. Each shape is held for several minutes, allowing your body to settle into stillness.
The intention is not to “do” anything, but to create conditions where the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest‑and‑digest response) can come into dominance. This state of rest supports regulation, restoration, and the body’s natural healing processes.
