This training supports staff who work in complex human environments to recognise the impacts of vicarious trauma and respond in grounded, sustainable ways. It is suitable for education, community, health, and frontline settings.
Training is delivered through The Go Slow Collective and is separate from my counselling practice.
Vicarious Trauma: Understanding, Responding, and Sustaining Practice
A steady, clinically aligned session that introduces the relational, somatic, and organisational dimensions of vicarious trauma. The training is practical, accessible, and designed to strengthen the capacity of staff who support others.
Participants learn:
Somatic and relational signs of strain
Risk and protective factors across individual, team, and organisational levels
Practical ways to support regulation, pacing, and boundaries
Approaches to maintaining steadiness in high‑demand environments
This training has been delivered across government and community settings, including the Department of Education.
In‑service session (1 hour)
A focused introduction or refresher.
(A half‑day workshop can be offered if requested, using the same core content with additional time for discussion and integration.)
My training is:
trauma‑sensitive and relational
grounded in real‑world practice
non‑hierarchical and accessible
designed to support practitioners, not overwhelm them
I support staff to understand their own systems, work sustainably, and respond to the realities of their roles.
This training is tailored to the needs of each organisation.
